YOU ARE BETTER. God is better than (insert anything). Can we really say that He is better. Better than anything this world has to offer…anything. How about this? He is better than any blessing He has to offer us or has ever given us. I have wrestled with this for a year now. The Lord gives and takes away, but how often do we cling to the blessings He’s given rather than to Him? If I say He really is better than anything, does my life reflect that. Am I just saying it or am I really living it? Because if I am really living it then I’ll live in total surrender to the Lord, held fast to Him with both hands, gaze locked on His.  In my opinion, there really is no better way to live. Sure there are things that come by that seem at the moment to be more enticing and at times do catch my attention but if I’m really honest with myself, my Jesus is way better and so worth it all. So why live for one moment like He’s not?

As followers of Jesus, we are the invitation to the wedding feast. Our lives are the invitation.

“And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become likethe garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the LORD; I have rebuilt the ruined places andreplanted that which was desolate. I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it.” Ezekiel 36:34-36 The nation of Uganda has been through unspeakable tragedies and times of war within their country. They have been through things that I look at and say how do you recover from that? How do you find joy and purpose in life? How do you still say there is a good God? But the thing is, they are not alone. There is a good God who is steadfast and abundant in His love towards them. He has created them for such a beautiful and unique purpose and is their true source of joy.He is the ultimate comforter. The perfect Healer. The most powerful God who can take any situation and bring beauty from it. And He is doing that for the nation of Uganda. He has been doing that for them and will continue to do so. As I have been praying for Uganda the Lord has shown me this verse and it is my “Uganda Promise”. It is the Lord’s promise to the people of Uganda. He has already begun restoring them and He will not stop until they see Him face to face. He brings beauty from ashes. Peace out of chaos. Hope out of despair. Mind blowing, that’s what that is.

I am simply on this journey with Jesus and our next move is Uganda, Africa. I will be serving as a missionary and have the joy of sharing Jesus’ love with the people of Uganda.
